Repeated touchdowns of various Codes of Aircraft spread Rubber deposits all over the landing zone leading to reduce the friction coefficient of the Runway.
Rubber deposits on the runways can be dangerous, they reduce the friction with Aircraft tires and impact the breaking and control of the Aircraft and the risk would be multiple in wet conditions. Every time an Aircraft lands, it leaves some amount of rubber deposits on the runway. The Transport Research Board has estimated that an average Aircraft landing leaves 1.4lb(700g) of rubber forming a thin layer on the runway surface, whereas a Jumbo Jet drops down 1.5kg of rubber deposit ( Source: Transportation Research Board, 2012)
We use the most efficient and Safe Water blasting technology using Ultrahigh water pressure for the rubber deposit removal.
The advantage of this technology is
There are no disadvantages or damages caused while using Ultra High Pressure water blasting technology.
After going through the friction readings, a trained and experienced operator would have set his nozzle configuration, water pressure, rotation and forward movement to ensure best results. Accordingly, the operator will ensure 90-95% of the Rubber deposit on the runway surface will be removed.
